Profile Information

What is your connection to new monasticism?
Spent a year as a novice in a cloistered contemplative order. This was the groundwork I needed to live as a contemplative in the world. Currently, I teach on prayer and being led by the Holy Spirit.
Are you involved in some form of intentional community or community of intention?
Regularly pray the hours and celebrate Holy Eucharist with a Benedictine community in Sewanee, TN. In addition, I have a ministry to patients on the Alzheimers Unit of a local nursing home. Once a week I enjoy fellowship with this community.
Are you involved in some form of emerging or fresh expression of church?
Revival of the contemplative; prophetic witness of diversity within the church. My photographs are an expression of the contemplative.

Hi Laura!
Wonderful to be in contact with you. I read your profile, and felt a kinship with you regarding living as a contemplative in the world. Regarding my pilgrimage to Spain, yes I'm going alone (something that seems more daunting as my departure date approaches!), but I felt drawn to walk the Camino of Santiago. I hope it will be a chance to leave much of what doesn't work in my life anymore behind, and to embrace a more "real" approach to my life, spirituality and relationships. Plus I need to lose a bit of weight lol!. I will be leaving mid July and returning end of August. Please pray for me.
